How does it work?
Apply
Apply to be a contributor. Our editorial team will review your application and provide a decision via email.
Pitch
Once a contributor, you’re free to pitch a topic anytime you’d like. We'll review and let you know if it's accepted.
Write
Once your pitch is approved, complete your draft and share it with the editorial team.
Edit
Completed drafts will go through Help Scout’s editorial process.
Publish
After your draft has made it through copyediting, it will be scheduled for publication.
Promote
Get the word out! We'll promote your piece on social and across other relevant channels.

We’re looking for original thought leadership content surrounding topics like customer service, company culture, software and technology, business, and remote work.
Note: We are not seeking SEO-driven pieces (ex. X Best Tools for Customer Support) at this time.
Most of our blog posts are 2,000-3,000 words. However, we encourage you to focus more on the content of your piece than on word count. Some pieces will require more, some less. We trust you to know how to best tell your story.
Yes. Help Scout pays per article and rates will be negotiated during the pitch process.
Yes. We'd like to get an idea of your writing style and ability to help us see how your work might fit in with our content. In particular, we'd like to see an example of original thought leadership content.
