Release Notes is our monthly update that highlights the recent product improvements we’ve made, so you can easily stay up-to-date on what’s new.

We’ve been heads down in October adding polish to the product and preparing for a couple of exciting releases in November. Here’s a look at what’s new in Help Scout, and a sneak peek at what’s just around the corner.

New improvements headed your way

Our fastest Mailboxes ever—now in beta

We’ve been hard at work the last few months refactoring Help Scout Mailboxes to perform better under high load. We’ve just opened a public beta for customers who want to give them a thorough test drive. It’s the same Help Scout UI you love with several performance improvements.

To participate in the beta, head to and login normally. All activity on the beta URL will be synced with your main Help Scout account. If you run into any snags, please let us know—we’re happy to help! You can always revert to the main site if needed.

We’ll publicly release the new Mailboxes to all customers in November. We look forward to hearing your feedback in the meantime!

Reporting Views

Our new Reporting Views will replace the old checkbox filters to accommodate more flexibility and filtering options.

Reporting Views let you add a set of filtering conditions to each View, and as you apply conditions the data will update in real time. Once you have the set of conditions you need, just save the View and you’ll be able to edit and access it at any time.

What we launched in October

Notification improvements for inbox organization

We’ve tweaked our outgoing email notifications to include in-reply-to and reference headers. It’s now easier for email clients to thread related emails together, allowing for better email notification management and a much cleaner inbox.

Using Safari in El Capitan? We want you to wear our pin!

Safari now supports pinned tabs, and we made the Help Scout tab pinnable. If you use Safari on OS X El Capitan, and keep Help Scout open all day long, just right click on your Help Scout tab to create a pinned tab. Drag your tab to the left to pin, and to the right to unpin.
